“Making a Fond Memory Stick” takes you on a journey, exploring the bygone era of 1950s to 1980s, through the lives of five protagonists Mick, Ariel, Raul, Suzanne and Alice based on the experiences as narrated by them. “The Neighbourhood” section gives a glimpse of their social life at that time with the help of a few vignettes. Their stories largely echo the events, encounters and nostalgia experienced by the other members of this Fb group. We see how despite currently being geographically dispersed, they come together online with shared experiences of past communities and how the group not just facilitates a renewal of acquaintances but also helps forge “new friendships with people who literally went to all the same places yet weren’t in our inner circle back in the day”.
